Ybyrapora diversipes
(Koch, 1842)
Amazon sapphire pinktoe (arboreal)
Brazil
~ 4,5 cm bodylength
Longevity: 12 ~ ? years, ♂ ~ 3 years
Formerly known as Avicularia diversipes, this little gem captivates with its unique coloring. Spiderlings really sparkle in the right light, while the coloration changes and becomes duller (but still very beautiful) with age. As a dwelling, this arboreal species likes to spin leaves together, but will also hide in tree roots. If this species is mated, it is usually very friendly. It is typical for Aviculariinae species that waterlogging is poorly tolerated. It is also important to ensure that the enclosure is well ventilated.
