Psalmopoeus victori
(Mendoza, 2014)
Mexican half & half (arboreal)
Mexico
~ 5 cm bodylength
Longevity: ♀ ~ ? years, ♂ ~ ? years
This species, only recently discovered, is very popular in the hobby. Their unique coloring (bright red hairs on the opistosoma and the rear pairs of legs, black front legs and green carapace) makes this species very attractive. It is the first type of Psalmopoeus found in Mexico. There it settles in tree hollows at medium height. As usual with Psalmopoeus, she is quick and shy - but can also react defensively.
