Typhochlaena seladonia

(Koch, 1841)

Brazilian jewel tarantula (arboreal)
Brazil
~ 2 cm bodylength
Longevity: ♀ ~ ? years, ♂ ~ ? years

This incredibly beautiful and small spider is hiding behind trap doors made of lichen and bark, the Idiothele mira of the arboreals. It comes from Brazil, where permanent deforestation puts its habitat in serious danger. She has only recently been represented in the hobby, but the first offspring have already been successful. This is where our animals come from, which we received in the second instar. Typhochlaena seladonia is a species of aviculariine tarantula and shows a splendor of colors like hardly any other tarantula.
